The Monsters of Heroic Adventures

The world of Heroic Adventures is filled with monsters. Some you may recognize, other's that are surprising and mysterious. Most monsters will have a unique play style, similar to races and classes, that means that players will have to adapt their strategies in order to defeat them. Some monsters target willpower instead of agility, which means the untouchable rogue who failed to invest in their willpower is now very vulnerable. Other monsters might have abilities or spells that ignore armor, meaning the ironclad fighter is now exposed. Various forms of abilities and stats make fighting different monsters very unique playing experiences.

What follows is a mere sampling of all of the monsters that will come with Heroic Adventures.

Goblins

Goblins are the classic denizens of fantasy adventure. While rarely engaging in full on war with the civilized races, goblins are known to be dangerous pests around villages and the outskirts of civilization. When the opportunity strikes, goblins will follow on the heals of orcs or general war in order to burn and loot the cities of men.

Lizardmen

Wherever humans build, lizardmen seem to find their place in the world. Whether it's in the sewers, in the trash heaps, or in the watery swamps and channels of farmlands, lizardmen will find a home. They can be dangerous to humans if two sides are both in the wrong place at the wrong time. However, more often than not, lizardmen stay to themselves, only coming near humans to steal valuables or steal food.

Skeletons

Their are many ancient dungeons of the world. Unrestrained magic that has lived beyond death and become an animating force of it's own. In such places, skeletons, the unliving animated remains of the long dead, are common. Skeletons ignore half damage from piercing attacks, making some weapons useless. They also cannot be turned back through intimidation, making their onslaught dangerously persistent. However, they do not strategize or plan their attack, so they can be easily out strategized.

Swamp Behemoth

The swamp behemoth is one of the natural denizens of the world that it is best to leave be, untouched. Unless of course it decides to make it's home in the middle of your village, along the path to the outlying lands, or decided that the tastiest snack are the people living nearby. In these cases, the bold and brave will be called upon to defeat such a monster.

Werecats

While never organizing in large enough numbers sufficient to form large scale political organizations or wage war, were cats are nonetheless a tribal group that can be a great ally or a dangerous foe. Traveling the world in small family groups, werecats can find a corner to live in just about any region of the world from deserts, to mountains, to forests. Some even have maintained a peaceful enough coexistence to live in the cities of man. This however, is always an unstable proposition, and rarely lasts long.

Dragons

In the early ages of the world, when the forces of creation were still active and at work, the dragons were made. Before all recorded time and prior to the advent of the civilized races, dragons roamed the primordial world, each being a primal agent, whether of anger, lust, beauty, creation, honor, and more. The dragons rarely wake. When they do they shake the foundations of the world they helped create. Some dragons have spawn, which grow in size over the ages.
